Grounding Quest

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 11, 2026

Grounding Quest is an iPhone app for teens 13 and older. It turns the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding exercise into a short, quiet scavenger hunt. This page explains what the app does with your information. The short version: it collects none of it.

We collect nothing

Grounding Quest has no accounts, no sign-in and no server. It makes no network connections of its own. It has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it contains no code from other companies. Nothing you do in the app is sent to the developer or to anyone else.

What stays on your phone

Camera and photos

The camera is optional. Every step can be done by tapping instead. If you allow camera access, the app looks at what the camera sees on your phone to help match a prompt, and it does not save those frames. The only image the app ever makes is the share card, and only if you choose to make one. Faces and writing on the card are blurred. The card leaves the app only when you tap Share and pick where it goes, which can include saving it to your photos.

The app never uses the microphone.

Your age

The app may ask Apple, through the system’s age-range feature, whether you are in an age range that can share cards. Apple answers with a range, not your birthday. The app uses the answer only for that session, keeps it in memory and does not store it or send it anywhere.

Links you choose to open

The Help screens list crisis lines and support sites. Tapping a number or link opens your phone, Messages or browser. The app never calls or texts anyone on its own. Sharing a card uses your phone’s share sheet, and what happens after that depends on the app you share it with.

Apple

Apple, not the developer, runs the App Store and TestFlight. If you have turned on sharing of analytics or crash reports in your iPhone settings, Apple may collect that information under its own privacy policy. The developer does not receive your data.

Not medical care

Grounding Quest is a wellness tool and does not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you are in crisis or need more help, use the Help button in the app or call or text 988 in the United States.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
